Child of Fire (Elemental Offspring Poem I)

by Bryce Ellner   Aug 21, 2004

She looked at her hands
Not black with burn
But yet flames surrounded them
And to know why she did yearn.

Around her they were crying
Houses burning, people dying
This curse of hers was not lying
For her apart it was prying.

All she loved she had lost
All these were gone because of her
These flames, she hated them so
And slowly, all became a blur.

Twas darkness then
And she felt empty within.
What this a sin?
What had she gotten herself in?

And then she tried to cry
But she did not feel any tears.
For they melted at her burning eyes
And with them, all that she held dear.

(I started writing my Elemental Offspring Legacy Poems when I first started writing. Please tell me what you think of this one.)

I'm surprised that no one has voted or commented on this poem yet. I feel special to be the first since I thought it was an awesome poem. Gave me a certain sense that I can't really explain but it was real good :)
