Similar Shores

by alfie   Aug 22, 2004

I walk along the desolate shores,
I know that my footprints will not be here forever,
As i travel through different stages of life,
The footprints grow more prominent at times,
Then at others, they grow so faint, like a whisper,
Many other people have left footprints,
And many others are still to be left.
Footprints are erased like the dead,
Once the waves have washed them way,
They are gone forever like a grain of sand,
Carried on a sea breeze,
Never to resurface. Never to be thought of.
However one day a set of footprints may be left.
This set will bear great significance on all others,
It may take many years to be washed away into the oblivion of souls...
