In the night

by Jacqui Armstrong   Aug 22, 2004

I'm sitting in the night so cold
All alone not feeling so bold
On the bench in the park
All alone in the dark

I pull my jacket round me tight
And listen to the silent night
I can hear footsteps coming close
The wind so silent as it blows

I feel you put your hand on me
As my heart fills up with glee
You whisper softly in my ear
And to my eye comes a tear

I am sorry for what I've done
I'm missing all our hours of fun
You come and sit down next to me
And to our life we both agree

No longer alone in the cold
Starting to feel so much more bold
You slowly place your arm round me
My heart feels safe and I feel free
