Safe Passage

by Timothy   Aug 23, 2004

Settle down, sweet child,
Listen to my tone;
Life is not hopeless,
It is worth more than a bemuddled moan.

Not all boys pull hair,
Not every daddy runs away;
It is not always winter,
The sky is not always gray.

There is a safe passage,
To the warm center of our crowd;
Take my hand, follow the leader,
Be a member, be proud.

This is more than an inner-circle,
Much more than a fashion statement;
You may have lost some friends and family,
But...we are the replacements.
