Dreams

by Jacqui Armstrong   Aug 23, 2004

When I close my eyes tonight,
Ill dream a dream of clouds so white.
Or maybe of a place so sweet,
Running through the fields of wheat.

Sitting on top of cloud nine,
A golden place just like a shrine.
I could stay here forever more,
A place without a worry of war.

If I follow my dreams to the end,
A bad life I could mend.
Whatever may come my way,
I will win this life some day.

I understand the POV you're writing from, well I think I do anyway LOL. That feeling of just being able to get away from reality by dreaming is presented in this poem. The rhyming was good except for the couplet in the last stanza which slightly disrupts the flow but otherwise the rhythm works well here. I think the imagery in this is very picturesque and pretty, almost surreal which works well because of course that's what dreams are like. Nice poem :)

Gud job.. it didnt reli capture me the way ur other poems did, but gud effort.. one line didnt match the flow coz it was too short, maybe u shud work a lil on that one.. nice rhyme, but ur words wer kinda used up and common.. o well, maybe its one of those low days 4 me..

In the other parts the flow was good, but work on this part some more. You see the second line is so much shorter than in the other parts so it messes the flow up. Otherwise very good poem, keep writing.
