I talked to you again today
But the time was just too short
It broke my heart
When we had to part
There wasn't even enough time to retort
And say all I've been longing to say
This had been coming for awhile but was still too short and terse
We both have been just so busily occupied
You were here when I was busy or had something to do
And when I got back then you'd be gone or I couldn't talk to you
And no matter how hard or long we tried
It just seemed that our schedules were working in reverse
But when you were available today I nearly cried tears of joy
As I felt a part of me reawaken inside
You'll probably never imagine that you effect me so much
From your voice, to your smell, to your touch
I find it very difficult, almost impossible to hide
All these feelings that I feel about only one simple boy
On my face is plastered a smile
From the second I started talking to you
You just made my day
In every single way
And now I know that what they say is true
That the wait is definitely more than worth the while
Times are changing, we must quickly evolve
Things will be different, we must learn to adapt
As you are heading off to college in the fall
Things can't ever be the same at all
But even so I believe we are more than apt
To make it through any issues we need to resolve
I dream of your kiss
And long for the day when I'll again feel your warm embrace
But these feelings I can hide
And bottle up deep inside
Because the truth I must face
Most of all, it's you and your friendship I'd miss
It's hard to explain how intense our bond is together
How great you are of a friend
And even when life gets so involved it seems to smother
I'm sure that we'll always have each other
For this is a friendship built to last, not to end
And even without the sun it can survive the worst weather
**About a friend that I will miss though I do admit I might exaggerated just a tad in the poem hehe. I actually was trying out a new rhyme scheme and didn't really care too much for this poem except I really like the last stanza. Hope you guys enjoy it more than I do**
