Love Line

by Timothy   Aug 25, 2004

Your sentimentality,
Has always reached out to me;
From practically the time I was a child,
I loved that you were free; I loved that you were wild.

I was fifteen, quite innocent,
In my mind, you were Heaven-sent;
An older woman, a younger boy,
Somehow, I didn't realize that it was all a ploy.

I crossed the Love Line,
It was a barrier I could not define;
You were my world, a glimmering star,
But this kid did not know that we were not on par.

Fifteen years apart is quite a span,
Perhaps my younger years were always in your plans;
I should have been smart, because I knew the score,
How awful, when it's a married woman you adore!

Wisdom comes with age, at least that much is true,
It took time, but I finally see the real you;
I got a clue, eventually read the signs,
Today, I crossed BACK over the Love Line.
