Second Chance in Heaven

by Unseen Exposure   Aug 25, 2004

You hear her scream,
But you just ignore,
As you push her further,
Onto the floor,
And as she bleeds,
You refuse to comprehend,
Her life will soon,
Come to an end,
And as she cries,
All you do is slap,
Knowing she's too weak,
To ever fight back,
When you hear her break,
More invitation to beat,
Then you scream at her,
Telling her she's cheap,
And as she finally falls,
You find a grin,
Feeling proud about,
That cut on her chin,
You walk away,
Forget to turn around,
The one who loved you,
Is dead on the ground,
She's lifeless now,
You crossed the line,
This beating wasn't like,
All those other times,
Guilt overtakes you,
As you come to realize,
All along you should have,
Paid attention to her cries,
Standing at her grave,
Just before the hearing,
You lay a single red rose,
Your eyes begin tearing,
Admitting to an addiction,
Resenting all your drinking,
Staring at her name on stone,
Your heart slowly sinking,
She's soaring up to heaven,
But she takes a passing glance,
Hating you for what you did,
But promising a second chance.
