What Happend To You Daddy

by The Plain Truth   Aug 26, 2004

Daddy, you are my best friend,
I used to say this a long ago.
Before you changed,
You were my hero.

Out of all the dads,
You were one of the greatest few.
You cheered me on,
Now you only make me blue.

What did I do wrong,
To make you say those things.
What makes you so sure you are like a father to me,
When you say I am no longer an angel with invisible wings.

I remember you lifting me up,
Saying I was the greatest.
Now you put me down,
You point and tell me you would trade this.

Why don't you love me,
What haven't I done.
You were supposed to see me grow,
Now you have left and gone.

I am looking for my father,
In each and every man.
Finally I found out,
Why do I want a father who took my heart and ran.

You were supposed to take me shopping,
On that special night of prom.
Now all I think of,
Is how you did me wrong.

I don't love you daddy,
As hard as it is to admit.
You used to be my hero,
I no longer care for that sh*t.

Now as I grow older,
It's my special wedding day.
What happend daddy,
You were supposed to be here giving me away.

Who is this stranger,
Walking me down the isle.
That is not my daddy,
I fake slip on the tile.

I don't want to go through with this,
You were supposed to be here.
Now these things have come true,
My real and greatest fears.

I never thought I'd hate you so,
Who knew you could be such a monster.
I had a daddy,
He is now a goner.

I wanted to love you daddy,
I really did try.
Who knew a daddy could be so cruel,
As to make his daughter cry.

Oh Malinda, I am so sorry for that. My cousin has a father that lives down the street...he never really talks to her. I know how it is, because she shared her pain with me, as if I was living it as my own. Maybe sometimes you should drop by without notice, see how he handles it. Thank you for the comment, things will get better, don't worry.
