Ben Crews

by hayley williams   Aug 26, 2004

Tragedy has yet again struck our town
Unfortunately we lost another young life
Someone else senselessly knocked down
By a seventeen year old carrying a knife

That night we will never be able to forget
How the headlines pronounced his death
No time is left for any remorse or regret
For Ben Crews has taken his last breath

Three weeks away from his 21st birthday
Just out having a drink with his boys
When a rival gang decided to start affray
All of the neighbors heard the noise

Forty boys were involved in the fight
Some of them even as young as thirteen
Their lives changed forever that night
Because their hands will never be clean

Ben’s parents bid him a final farewell
When he was only twenty years of age
Shaun’s now spending time in a cell
All because he chose to act out in rage

Friends have left flowers in the street
Where ben tragically met his fate
Tributes and cards fill up the concrete
For the boy stood up at heavens gate

dedicated to Ben who was stabbed to death in my town just weeks ago!
