As sure as tomorrow

by Praneeth Aryan   Aug 27, 2004

Battling through the dreams of last night
I set out to find a new glimpse at future.
Finding its feet was an enigma, a fright
Silhouetted against the lights of nature.

Life it was, overpoweringly monstrous it stood.
Ill-groomed in a cape of red, blue and black.
My eyes wore fear, tear and an anxious hood.
I crossed myself thrice, on it I turned back.
I beckoned to heart, I beckoned to will.
And, lo, in a jiffy, Life sank to a dot-less nil.

It was a dream, miserable, but it was a lesson.
Nothing in life, not even Life itself, can harm you.
Hope, believe and they will drown who frighten.
So, hope in your smile, wipe off the eyes the dew.
Live for tomorrow, the day you shall conquer.
Masked by the ash is the fortune to prosper.

Step forward; trust and believe in every cobblestone you tread.
You shall, sure as tomorrow, succeed when day wears crimson red.
