Memories of pain

by Jamie   Aug 27, 2004

I see rain, drops of dew in my life
Teardrops of sadness, unbearable strife,
So much stormy weather sent along my path,
So many scars left by my own knife.

Family, then doctors, then friends passed me by,
Leaving me hurting, just wanting to die,
The pain was unbearable, the loneliness oppressive,
Living day by day, each truth a new lie,

But soon i must be strong, make something right,
I can't just go on crying away each sleepless night
Countless tears shed and lost in the dust,
This time I'll look within, find my inner light,

I'm starting to see the sorrows I've lived,
Starting to recognise all that i give,
See that I'm worth more then just a memory,
Defined by more then the scars and tears from me,

They may break me, and may take me, but only i can make me,
I'm lost now, lost somehow,
but i will be,
someday I'll have a new definition of me.
