Hidden Happiness

by The Plain Truth   Aug 27, 2004

*I'm sorry, I didn't know which heading to put this under*

Tonight I shall write a poem,
Filled with happiness and glee.
I need to dig up the happiness,
Buried deep inside of me.

I'll fill my thoughts with butterflies,
And other pretty things.
I must search through a deeper me,
I'll think of soaring with my wings.

I look below and see small children,
I envy their careless ways.
I think real hard and finally come up,
With one of my happier days.

Possibly a fishing trip,
At home in my garage.
I am hiking through the woods,
Up a mountain in my Dodge.

All I know is,
I am careless and I am free.
I have finally found happiness,
The happiness within me.

What I really wanted,
Was to clear my mind.
Release my heart,
From these choking binds.

All I really needed was someone,
To care for me so I can care for her.
To you I give my many thanks,
My new friend Jennifer.

Now to you I prove,
I do still have happiness.
In you I find deep comfort,
Even moral bliss.

Thank you Rose, your poems are always so greatly written. It brings me great confidence to get compliments from such a wonderful poet.

Actually, I met Jennifer just a little while ago. She told me to email her if I needed to talk. I did, and through those few emails she helped me. First person to listen to me in a long time.
