The Holocaust

by Amanda   Aug 27, 2004

Do you know what it was like
living in the holocaust
you lose all your family members
and everything is lost
Teeth knocked out
beaten to death
poisoned with foods
and chemicals similar to meth
Your hair cut off
your limbs too
you couldn't say a word
there was nothing you could do

Taken to gas chambers
one by one
everyone was killed
until the Nazi's were done

Brutally murdered
thrown in ditches and such
no food given
just water, not much

You couldn't sleep
you couldn't cry
the last thing to do
was just to die

Prison suits
were all you could wear
rag over your scalp without hair

Walk out of line
spoke a word
you'd be shot to death
and that was the last heard

The weak looking ones
were out like that
the skinny ones
and the extremely fat

Blood, and limbs everywhere
the Nazi's laughed
they didn't care.

All their belongings went to
others who weren't here
the ones who were safe
and had nothing to fear

No showers
or so they thought
and this was all
the holocaust brought.

I wrote this because every time I think of the pain all those people went through during the holocaust, it just makes me want to cry. My great grandpa fought in this war and he shot a Nazi, and kept that Nazi's gun, My great grandpa recently died, and it was devastating to everyone, and I am sure that the holocaust created some devastating effects on many too. Because it was wrong. All I ask you guys to do it COMMENT on my poem, because I need some comments really bad. Thank you so much, and remember to comment!

Great poem. My grandfather was forced into Hitlers youth army and you cant even believe some of the horrible things he had seen, they used to force him to take the ashes of male "jews" to their wives and children. keep writting your poems are really good!

I think it's really cool how you're grandpa killed a Nazi. It's really sad how people have to go through all of that pain.
