Still Looking Little Girl

by Princess Duckie   Aug 29, 2004

Daddy's little girl
His princess you'll always be
You can never do any wrong
The perfect little angel he will always see
Away with the pigtails
The baseball hats
And overalls
Comes in the dresses
The make-up
And boy phone calls
Away with the skinned knees
And crocodile tears
And the bedtime stories
In come the broken hearts
The real tears
And the long lectures on life
Away goes the wondering how she's going to be when she grows up
In comes the wondering of how she did
Away goes the worry
In comes the worry
And endless world of it
Away goes daddy's little girl
And into daddy's little woman
Making her own decisions
Doing her own thing
The only this is that
The little woman
Is still that little girl on the inside
Still reaching out for those strong hands
Still looking into that voice of reason
Still looking for the only man she will always love
Still looking for that shoulder to cry on
Still looking for that phone to call you on to know whether to turn right or left in the road of life
And as long as in daddy's eyes she is daddy's little girl
The one that could do nothing wrong
The one who could rule the world
The one who can make him smile on the darkest of days
The world will go on
Tomorrow will come
And she will be safe in her crib
Where you left her to sleep
Dreaming of nothing but teddy bears
Fearing nothing more than a bumble bee
Loving no other man but you
And you looking for nothing more than what is best for her
