A Mother's Calling

by Ashley   Aug 29, 2004

A girl you have started,
A woman you have become,
And a mother you are now.

From one life you've made many,
From you now comes love.
Even when you spank a fanny,
Just because of one little shove.

For life is what you gave to me,
With perfect love and harmony,
And now I give to you,
What you have given to me.

A glance of all things to come,
Of hopes and dreams from more than one,
A new future succeeds the past,
So now there's no overcast.

I apologize for all my wrongs,
Of disrespect and fights so long,
Of messes, and of all those long nights.
For now I know you are always right.

When I cried you came to me,
When I was scared you stayed with me,
You slept with me when I was sick,
And watched me grow as time would tick.

I love you with all my heart,
I always have, from the start.
