Sometimes what I feel
Deep inside me is concealed
Where life throws out surprises
And everyone dresses in disguises
This fear I feel inside me
Leaves me alone and unguided
Where dreams are my only escape
From a world of murder and rape
Here I stand, confused and in a daze
As eternal life’s light dims its rays
I turn around and through my heart
A sharp pain pierces like a dart
Now here I lay, eyes glazed over
In my head doubts cloud like a hangover
One thought clear, what seems to be
Is something real.
My plea to thee
To let my heart heal.
