Stolen Sunbeams

by Jaklynn   Aug 29, 2004

I sit here in the back seat
Look around but speak no words
The moving car is my best friend
Then reality sets in as i sink into the shadows
My gaze fixes on the big bright moon
Illuminating the big summer sky
With a bright, goregeous light
Created from stolen sunbeams
I glance to the front, then back to my moon
With a distinct taste of salt on my lips
Not from a passioniate kiss like theirs
But from the tears of jealousy spilling down
Silently and gently streaming on my cheeks
I have to fight them though, as usual
I try to pour my emotions into the stars
Because I do not wish to cry
For him, everything I ever wanted
And everything I couldnt have
Every tear that escapes
A sharp, shining razor blade
Cutting through my cheeks
The moon still shines
And I am left, like the moon,
With light from stolen sunbeams
And razor blades streaming down my cheeks
