Teach me the Words

by Amanda Sloan   Aug 29, 2004

I've been taught to work harder when the job still isn't done
I've learned how to keep the complaints to myself
I've been taught to overcome obstacles
I've learned that God can jump them faster than i can say go
I've been taught to write the ABC's
I've learned that there's more in the world than i could ever see
I've been taught to be content with my life
And learned it's true even when things are as hard as they get
I've been taught to seek
And I've learned to find
I've been taught many things
And learned without using my eyes
I've been taught to listen
And learned to be sincere
I've been taught how to learn and have learned to be taught
You've taught me all that I've learned, and filled in the missing parts.
Yet i still haven't learned the words to mend a hurting heart
