It's My Fault

by Ten Feet Tall   Aug 30, 2004

My eyes sting from the crying,
I feel like I am dying.
You pushed it too far this time,
And now I must pay for this awful crime.

An evil little devil made you do it,
So it wasn't even legit.
I told you to stop drinking,
Good God, what were you thinking?

Parties like that are really the best,
But not when they push a friendship to test.
I know I should have taken your keys,
You asked me not to, even said, "Please."

I watched you drive off that night,
Until you were completely out of sight.
I stood in tears and waved goodbye,
Thinking that you would now fly.

That was the last night I saw you,
Apologizing is the only thing left to do.
It's my fault you crashed, my fault you died,
I said sorry to your parents, and still they cry.

hey, this is very good! especially since you said you don't usually write like this. And I wouldn't have known it wasn't true if you hadn't said it on the discussion board... Great work!
