The Dance

by Jacki   Aug 31, 2004

He took her hand
and she appeared to
have smiled.
This handsome gentleman
gave her some attention.

He swirled her about the room.
Her body close to his.
Their eyes connected
there lips about to meet.
Then the song ended.

He pulled away and
said good day.
She stood there
confused.
For that brief moment
in time she forgot
about all her pains
she felt love.

He walked out of the building,
she ran after him.
Not wanting the night
to end.
He smiled at her
and said today is your
lucky day my friend.

She jumped in his car
with no worries on her mind.
All she could think about
is her handsome new love.

As they pulled away
and drove out of town.
They veered off course
ended up on dark lonely
highway.

He made his moves
and she fell victim to
his secret obsession.
He tied her up
so she couldn't walk.
Gagged her mouth
so she couldn't talk.

Her screams weren't heard
her pleas and cries
would be lost in time.

Her handsome new love
had taken her life.
Leaving her lying on
the ground naked
and bruised.
Beaten,
and mutilated.

Here she though
she met her dream.
But her dream
turned out to be
her nightmare.
