I remember so clearly the sadness upon his face,
He was trying so hard not to cry.
Our eyes met and his reflected a sorrow that I will never forget.
They did it to him every single day,
They would pick him apart, no matter what he did
They always found a way. I tried to make them stop,
But they didn't care what I had to say.
He didn't choose to be that way, or look the way he did
They just saw what was on the outside
And never cared or saw what was deep within.
He was hurting and crumbling inside
From the truth he could not hide.
All the hurtful things they've said stayed with him
And lingered in his head.
They never knew what damage they caused
Until he committed suicide, and he was dead
They never realized how bad it was
Adding more pain to his life pushed him to the end. When
All he really wanted was to be accepted, to have more than just one friend.

It is over and done with and it's a lesson to be learned
I speak for those who don't have a voice when I say
Its wrong, hurtful and a shame to discriminate on someone
Cause they look a certain way or cause their life is not like yours.
When I think of him I just want to cry for the life he never really got to live,
But from this and for him I hope kindness we'll all give
