My Moon, My Beautiful Memory

by Bryce Ellner   Sep 1, 2004

The moon is so beautiful sometimes.
I don't know why I think that, but I do.
So many times I catch myself gazing at it.
And I begin to realize my truth.

I could die at any moment,
And then I'd never see that glis'ning sphere again.
For some reason this shocked me.
And I felt a sort of emptiness there in.

Now that I know this,
I look for it every night.
No matter how long it takes,
I'm that captivated by it's light.

If you were to say to me,
"It's not going to go away."
My answer would be "It very well could."
"It's light could die just about any day."

This may be the last time I see it
But I'm going to go look at it anyway.
Because this is one thing I never want to forget,
Because there's a chance I might just die tomorrow...or even today.
