Guess my last words

by Mild insomnia   Sep 2, 2004

Guess my last words.

Scrawled upon my heart,
etched into my brain,
carved into our tree,
the words still remain.

They echo in my smile,
and whisper through my tears,
repeatedly replaying,
the words from all the years.

If I should die tomorrow,
Or whenever it's my time,
I hope you get the message,
If you misread the signs.

So if it comes to that,
and you never hear me say them,
you can guess my last words,
re-read this poem.
