The Death of Catherine Porter Part IV

~Two Letters...Ten-Thousand Words~

He had so many questions
None with any answers.
And each night he'd go back to the lighthouse.
But he'd never find her.

By a twist of fate
He'd found this girl.
Yet no one knew her name
Not ever the old whiskey drinking troll.

How he it be
This town knew nothing?
When all this seemed to happen
So close to the unnamed bay.

As he stood outside his house.
Staring down in the moonlight
At the locket cupped within his hands.
Staring into her faded eyes.

Then something caught his sight
Something in the ground.
He reached down and dusted it off.
Revealing a shiny rock.

It had something etched in it though
But he couldn't tell what.
So he took it inside and into the light
And squinted at its side.

It hit hard on his desk
As it fell from his hand
He back away, nearly tripping over the chair
Feeling his heart skip a beat.

Was this her house?
It couldn't be...
But the etching on the rock were plain as day.
They read...C...P....

(hehe, yeah, this ones my favorite so far ^_^)

    I love these lines:
As he stood outside his house.
    Staring down in the moonlight
At the locket cupped within his hands.
    Staring into her faded eyes
