The Perfect Rose

by Sara   Sep 3, 2004

The perfect Rose
Stands tall in its place
Having pride in its shape and looks
Knowing it belongs in the vase

This perfect Rose
Has thorns yet they are not rough
The thorns has a soft side to them
They are there to look tough

The thorns have a reputation
But they are soft inside
Their looks are there
To protect their pride.

The perfect Rose
Starts to open its heart
And show itself to the one it loves
To the one who believed in it from the start

This perfect Rose
Knew its make
Until it looked in the mirror
And realized it was fake

The perfect Rose
Wasn’t as perfect and everyone thought
This “perfect” rose knew
That it would never be bought

It knew it had to make a decision
To choose to be real or fake
It knew its life depended on it
It was the hardest decision to make

This perfect Rose
Made the perfect wishes
Which was to be real
Filled with hugs and kisses

This perfect Rose
Was finally real
It had the love and happiness
I could finally feel
