A man, tall, handsome, a little ones idol.

A man, tall, handsome, a little ones idol,
Watching a movie in the living room
Too gruesome for the kids,
A war movie, a battle of life and death

Little does this big man know
He's hiding in the corner
Watching his daddy watch the show
He sees into his daddy's eyes
And notices
He starts to cry
He sees a man
Upon the screen
Who got shot down
Like he lost a dream

He runs to his daddy
To tell him it's ok
For he knows that his daddy
Would run to him the same way

Months later
A man, tall, handsome, a little ones idol
Bends down to say goodbye
Little does this big man know
His little one would never cry

A boy, small, cute
Has a heart full of pride
For as his daddy says goodbye
He smiles and holds his little head high

He looks up at his daddy
And his eyes are filled with pride
He only hopes
When daddy comes home
He can stand tall and by his side

He's waiting by the window
On the day his dad comes home
His voice is so much greater
Than it is over the phone

He runs outside to greet him
To ask him how it went
To tell him how he was a man
To ask him, Were the letters sent?

Not a little does that big man show
For as his son smiles, he lets it go
His tears of joy
Fall to the ground
He lifts his son
And all is heard
A single sound
The sound of laughter
The sound of joy
Big daddy came home
To his little boy.
