Whilst the mother sings a broken lullaby,

What does that first word mean? Is it a typo maybe? ANyways I thought this poem was amazing, and i can see where you're coming from how it can have different meanings. It does give off a different feel excpecially if you re-read it. Awesome job.

This is a brilliant poem. This is about well what i think a mother mourning for her child, excellent work though

Perhaps it's just me, but I acquired the impression that something nefarious, but not necessarily fatal had occurred to the child... or more so, fatal, but not necessarily "an end" per se. Maybe even vampiric or necromantic in nature. Perhaps it's just too much Anita Blake.

But it's a great poem. I love how vividly you evoke the mood regardless of meaning. I'd love to hear what you dreamt/conceived/envisioned that led to this, though.
