Summer Time

We were all so young
but we fell in love
it felt so right
but it never was
staying up all night
Talking on the phone
Dancing in the summer rain
to our love song
sharing ice-cream in the summer heat
Running in the grass in our bare feet
singing with the birds
laying under a tree
dreaming of you and me
Writing love notes
sending them to you
when you wrote back
it all felt so new
my heart begins to bloom
but the summer's ending soon

The last day comes in the blink of an eye
it hurts some much to say good-bye
