Photographs on the Wall

by Timothy   Sep 4, 2004

Sitting here, I try to keep my chin up,
But it isn't an easy thing to do;
It is very hard, but sometimes I have to pretend they don't exist,
Or not one single day would I make it through.

It has been more than a year,
Since I have seen my daughters' beautiful faces;
I wonder how much I have missed,
And exactly what my place is.

I know they still love me,
But this place is like a museum, an echoing memories hall;
It is an ongoing torment,
A shrine of tears enlivened by the photographs on the wall.
