A poem to help her through

by Jamie   Sep 4, 2004

Heather, you can never see,
Who it is you really are,
Unless you hear it from another,
Who sees you from afar.

So listen to my words,
Each one comes from my heart,
For i can't bare to see you,
Falling all apart,

You're a wonderful person
With a good heart to lend,
And I want you to know,
That you're a really good friend.

When I needed love most, it was you that was there,
Even when most didn't seem to care,
And though I haven't known you for long,
I can already see that you are so very strong,

So in moments like this,
When your heart just pangs so,
Just remember there is me over here,
Who knows each pain and woe.

I promise to be all that I can,
I'll be here for you through it all,
I solemnly do swear,
I'll try to catch you when you fall.

But hunnie it's not worth it,
To count each talent you lack,
Because you have so many precious qualities,
Use THEM to fight back!

Your strong, courageous,
Beautiful and true,
Your loving and helpful,
You helped ME get through!

And though the pain you feel,
Surely runs so deep,
I know that you can fight it,
Don't let yourself fall too steep.

Remember I'm always here,
A girl who feels your pain,
Who knows just how much it hurts,
With every pound you gain.

We're caught in the same world,
Cried the same tears,
I've felt all your self-hatred,
I've felt your inner fears,

So next time you feel alone,
Or feel like you are worthless,
Remember I'm here for you,
Together we can get through this.

So though you say your cold,
I'm here as your jacket,
And though you only see black,
With my flashlight I'm sure we can hack it!

And never forget the thing that matters most,
The fact that you are loved,
By your xanga, Josh, and I,
And most importantly God above!

Love Always & Forever,
Jamie

**I wrote this poem after I read a friend's post on xanga(an on line journal site), where I met her. It was so sad, and she just felt so much pain, and coldness and like a complete failure and since I know all her struggles of an eating disorder and self hatred i wrote her this straight from my heart. I may not know her in person, but i have come to love her and if only she knew how great she was. I hope this helps.**I also wrote this for tewo othet amazign ppl, one named steph, and one named bella, both who have been there for me, and been through this disoder and still are. Their versions were a little differnt but didn't want to poats 3 almsot the same poems so i didn't post them.
