Some One Big

by Robert   Sep 4, 2004

You will be some one big when you grow,
But that was never the show.
I was told that when I was young and free,
But let me tell you what I grew to be.
The turning point was when I loved the wrong guy,
One that swore he would give me the sky.
Out of all his wild dreams he had for us two,
I found out what was really true.
I was to carry our seed like others had done before,
And my man he was to walk out the door.
Now a year later I got a phone in one hand,
And a phone in the other and I can't just stand.
My kids screaming for food and boss want me to work late,
Oh God, is this my damning fate.
My parents work with my busy and hectic life,
But I feel I should just become a wife.
But with work, kids and sleep,
All I want to do is weep.
Now it years later and I can finally look up,
I just have to worrying about filling a cup.
Ya, I will be some one big in the end,
For at he diner I work I am everyone's friend.

I found this to be original in concept, and very unique.

Beautiful opening, with each line thereafter getting better and better.

Flow is good throughout, coupled with the imagery and content, it all comes together to create a truly beautiful read.
