Our Hidden Truth

by Robert   Sep 4, 2004

We came to power from Maat for it was our way,
and through royalty and the right to lead we came to stay.
We made symbols all over our land,
even to this day most still stand.
Our Rulers had the bragging rights to gloat,
even when the Nile turned into our personal moat.
We made buildings of such height and splendor,
that our riches would demand no surrender.
Our education was the envy of all,
it was Rome that saw to our fall.
Books of secrets sent down from father to son,
were burned or torn because of religion that worshipped only one.
They left servant hood to wonder the dry land,
and they stopped us with fire so we couldn't make our stand.
Moses he that was despised by your profits and kings,
gave flight to the Jews with Godly wings.
Even the one God could not dull our influence on life,
for we filed our every strife.
Yes you chipped our walls and broke most of our seals,
but it will our information that is your thing that heals.
For in those secret scrolls and lost words lies your fate,
a tale that shall one day be reviled on a lost slate.
When that day comes then you will forever know,
how our culture will shine and glow.

I thought this was beautifully written. The flow was good throughout, imagery wonderfully portrayed and the message behind the words was wonderfully displayed.
