Nightshade.

by Poppy   Sep 5, 2004

Looks can be deceiving,
The poison of a plant,
The evil that lies behind beauty,
Can drag you in.

The darkness of its leaves,
The beauty of its stem,
How it draws you in,
Takes you in.

Like the love of a lover,
Who’s intent be dark,
Like the love of a mother,
Who’s love can leave a mark.

Not everyone can be trusted,
Not everyone cares,
No one notice when one dares,
To cry out into the night in pain.

The cry in pain,
Is a cry in vain,
As no one turns their head,
No one hears what’s said.

In the sorrow of the hour,
One finds the power,
To eat a flower,
And die so sour.
