She.

by Poppy   Sep 5, 2004

She rode into the village,
One a horse as black as night,
They ran from her,
For she was not light.

She was beautiful,
Raven black hair,
Snow-white skin,
And she sat tall.

They ran from her,
Ran from the night,
She sat tall,
Sat in the light.

Casting a shadow on them,
Throwing them in darkness,
The stupid cast stones,
The brave watched.

She jumped from her horse,
And walked to the village priest,
Nothing changed her course,
Unsheathing her sword…

Father John's head bounced and rolled,
“I am darkness,
I am light,
You shall bow,
Sacrifice a cow.” She yelled.

The village feared the witch,
Calling her a b****,
Running from her,
When she came near.

Her words echoed,
“I am darkness”
Her words
“Light”

“Who is she?” one man asked,
“Why is she here?” asked another.
The answer,
To save the women.

“I am a witch,
A child of night,
I am a b****,
A child of light.”
