Self Portrait

Lying on the floor
Is where they found her there
Her make-up was all done
And she wore her "perfect" hair

No one seemed to noticed
Ans no one seemed to care
No one even noticed
That she wasn't there

THey sent the cops out to find her
To figure out if she had died
They never even thought
"This might be suicide"

She always seemed so happy
She always was so nice
So please tell us now
What turned her heart to ice?

They wouldn't know
And they'd wonder why?
She didn't seem unhappy
And we've never seen her cry

Maybe on the outside, yes.
But on the inside, no.
Because these were feelings
That she was told not to show

Lovely are the letters
That were written in the dark
We wish we could have seen
What she had hidden in her heart

But they would just say that
So not to look rude
Because everything that she said
Was always being booed

She wasn't good at anything,
Although she had tried
She was such a hypocrite
And they thought she always lied

So when they found the letter
That turned out to be her last
The wished that they could have seen
And they looked into the past

And they realized that they were wrong
But that realization came too late
Because they didn't see
That all she felt was hate
