Simply By Asking (poem about not seeing parents who are abusive)

by Krystin   Sep 6, 2004

Why isn't she loved by her father
Why is she treated so bad
She lives through it every day
She gets beaten by her dad
Yet she goes to school
And sits in the chair
The teachers won't ask about the marks
They think some one must care
But how wrong they are
About this tortured soul
How not asking questions
Will soon take its toll
The next day
As she lays motionless on the floor
She realizes
She can't take it any more
So she gives up
And goes up above
Where she will soon know
What its like to feel love
As all the earth-bound people
Come to realize what happened that day
They think
There must have been a way
To save this sweet girl
From her horrible passing
And how they could have done
this
Simply by asking
About the marks and the bruises
On her altered body
They should have realized
The dad had been naughty
But the girl is in heaven
And now knows love
From the One Almighty
God up above
