Shadows In the Night

by Hannah M.   Sep 6, 2004

As I lie there in my room
I see it creeping over there
I see it creeping under, over
It is creeping everywhere

Shadows on the ceiling
Shadows on the wall
It is slowly moving
The shadow starts to crawl

As I hold tight to the covers
Sweat begins to drip down
And as I sweat I start to cry
Seeing my fears all around

Shadows on the ceiling
Shadows on the wall
It is slowly moving
The shadow stands up tall

Hold on tight, stay under the covers
It can't get me under here
It can't penetrate this barrier
Just hope it can't smell fear

Shadows on the ceiling
Shadows on the wall
It is slowly moving
The shadow's in the hall

Keep praying it won't hurt you
Pray that it will soon be gone
Cross your fingers and hope to die
Pray that the shadow does move on

Shadows on the ceiling
Shadows on the wall
It is slowly moving
The shadow does know all

So the shadow keeps me up
Until it disappears
Leaves my fearful mind
And takes with it all my fears
