The Angel Sent Back

by Aken Sol   Sep 6, 2004

You were always there for us all
Angel from above
You would always smile and call
And give everyone your love.

But you never told anyone you had leukemia.
You kept it inside of you.
Maybe it was because you knew it would cause mass hysteria
Or afraid it might make us blue.

On Sunday, when the Sun had just fallen,
God must have realized that an angel was missing
Because at Seven P.M. that night he was callin
And you went back to Heaven without hissing.

The news hit me really hard.
I couldn’t believe my ears!
My heart leaped from my chest for a yard
And my eyes filled with tears

I’ve visited your grave everyday now.
There’s always fresh flowers there.
Dear Mary, I give you my vow,
I’ll never forget the impression you left here.

This is such a nice poem. It showed so much emotion and because of my job, I can understand the horror of leukemia. The flow worked really well, and I hope that this is not a true story, becasue that would be so heart-breaking.
Keep up the great work, and if I could, I would give you a 6/5.
