Tell Me Why

by Aken Sol   Sep 6, 2004

Why does the wind blow so gracefully through the sand
Of angry deserts only to cause a sand storm?
Why do the soft, weak willows continue to stand
While the tree on the ground has indented its form?

Why is it that the brightest light still always shine
When the darkest place to be is in its shadow?
And why is your pure and precious heart still mine
When I’m truly useless like a broken paddle?

I am undeserving of a girl like you
Why on Earth would you ever choose a guy like me?
With my dim future and a past that makes all blue
And your innocence and beauty, how can we be?

It doesn’t make sense because you’re smarter than this
So how can you say we can be together?
You’re a goddess that can give any man true bliss
But my life’s too depressing, like clouded weather.

Than you hushed me and I obeyed without a fight
“You should learn to listen with not your head but heart,
Love doesn’t always make sense Aken, you are right.
But love me, and we’ll never have to be apart.”
