The Fairies Ball

by Amy   Sep 8, 2004

Follow the winding path
Through the looming trees
As the hollow moon shines down
And the stars sparkle above
Hear the sound of laughter
Faintly float on the wind
As the fairies prepare
For their midnight ball
They shyly arise and begin to dance
Amongst the roses so sweet
As they flitter and fly
Wings made of pure lace
And hair sprinkled with glitter dust
They dance around the fire
To the music like a drum
Like a heartbeat
Faster and louder
The rhythm increases
As fiddles play in the wind
And falling stars shoot thru the sky
And the Nightingale's sing
The clouds up above hang in the air
And the mist begins to clear
All through the night they dance
Till the sun begins to rise
And dewdrops on fresh roses
Its time for the fairies
To sleep the day away
Till midnight that night
When they can come out and play
