Should I really be an Atheist?

by Alison   Sep 8, 2004

My Family has never been religious
They brought me up with no belief
Always told me The Bible was fake.
Instead they brought me up in their world of hate

They always said it was all just useless contradictions
And that God could not be real,
For if he was, he would not let us have sad emotions.
And would give every poverty-disadvantaged human a meal.

But one day when my bipolar sister was psychotic,
She decided to convert.
My family became so mad,
They really did not like it.

But in the end, of course, she gave Christianity up,
I mean,
Who can blame her,
In our house, being an Atheist, is practically a law.

But now, as I grow up, I begin to realise,
That life does not stop at only what we can touch and see.
Surely there's got to be more than just dieing.
Because, isn't that why people are suicidal?
So they can be set free?
