Snowflake

by Brandon Evans   Sep 9, 2004

Descending from the heavens
Breeze bestowing form
Crystalline memory of it's former self
Bitter pioneer of a cold winter storm

Light, penetrates from all angles
Rainbows of color extruding
Illuminating nature's prism
Its beauty and character protruding

Witnessing the world through virgin eyes
It never knows pain or grief
A carefree existence, lived to its fullest
Despite a lifespan of ever so brief

As its body gently rests on the ground
Its journey has come to an end
Splendor dissolves, but not lost in time
It silently waits to be born once again
