Last Words I Said

by Amy~Lynn   Sep 9, 2004

The time has come again
To try and end my life
So I pull out the kitchen drawer
And take out that special knife

I go into my room
And lock my bedroom door
Dropping down on my knees
As tears drip onto the floor

I pick up the knife
And lay it gently on my wrist
I press down and it slides across
From all the pain I tighten my fist

I do it several times
And even more after that
Watching the blood drip down
Just crying there I sat

The pain soaked into me
I looked down to stare
Holding the knife in my hand
My body felt cold and bare

I closed my eyes and thought
Of what I had just done
I whispered quietly to myself
"The worst has just begun."

As I opened my eyes
A tear fell down my cheek
I collapsed onto the floor
Feeling tired and weak

I closed my heavy eyes
And my arm heavily bled
"Good-bye world, forever."
Were the very last words I said.
