Success Is Pain

I don't know how you feel
or what to say
to make it better
if they aren't careful
you'll go backwards,
find yourself falling
into a tail spin
making you regress,
and depressed again
don't let them beat you
I can't do much
to see you through
I've been stopped,
stepped on,
held back
and worst of all,
I've been rendered helpless
I try to reach you
but can't get there
I don't have the words,
experiences or knowledge you see
I'm sorry I failed you
it hurts so much
knowing I can't help
the words I have
to offer you
aren't true
I say I know but really
I don't know
where to begin
wait, I'm not helpless!
I can make a suggestion
you have to do this yourself
I can't do it for you,
but I can and will,
do it with you
we'll go to God,
the Lord of Heaven and Earth,
in prayer
we'll ask Him to guide you
through these hard times
and thank Him
for making me realize
I'm not helpless
knowing I haven't been rendered helpless
makes me want to stand up
and praise Him for His grace, power and undying love
a love you have had for many years
even if you haven't always felt it,
it's always been there
and will always be there
if you let it be
you're not alone
and baby, you are loved
