Little Star

by Luz   Sep 11, 2004

Looking out my window
At the perfect night sky
It’s calm, cool, and peaceful
All the stars are shining bright

As I look a little closer
I see a lonely little star
It’s not as bright as the others
It looks very cold and far

I let my imagination run
Picturing the star’s galaxy
A cold, lonely unoccupied space
Where this star is forced to be

The star cannot shine
Without something to shine on
This stars occupants have left
Abandoned everything, They’re all gone

Year after year
The star fades a little more
It’s getting farther from existence
With no reason to shine for

As I look out my window
It’s such a sad sight to see
A bright young star fading
When this star is me

Amazing poem, I always seem to find myself staring out at the stars...and I have noticed how some seem dimmer than the others...brings on a whole meaning, if you care to pay attention. I really liked this poem, keep it up.
