Sunrise Of Death

by Robert   Sep 11, 2004

Have you felt so cold you knew you were dead,
while teams of objects past your body made of lead.
In night you cared not to even venture a small space,
when all that welcomed you was in death's haunting face.
In the night as shells and shrapnel filled the air,
and you watched as your comrades cried out in despair.
You held out in the conviction that this night would soon end,
for light and the sunrise3e would be just around time's bend.
You search for come purpose or some righteous cause,
then you hear the moans of death be your final applause.
The hours turn with such slow course,
that you wished you were Luke Skywalker and you had the force.
The skies lights are faded with flashes of hate,
falling all around you sealing another pour soul's fate.
Finally dawn comes and drives the night away,
but the, stench of death's fumes just linger, and stay.
You see little as the sun up rises over the hill,
but you try you best to make another kill.
A red hue calls to dawn's early rise,
and you feel little dread in night's coming demise.
You see the redness of light stretch out on the blood stained ground,
and you look at the lifeless bodies all around.
You sense little comfort from what you see of the coming day,
you are just glad to walk away hunter not prey.
Forever you will place this time in your mind,
and every time you see a sunrise you have this to rewind.

I liked the idea but something doesn't seem to be right here. Maybe it's the words you used to something, but it needs more work. Maybe revise it and take out some parts..I don't know...but it does need more work. I liked the idea though and it was nicely written. Take care,
