Power

by SammiBABY   Sep 12, 2004

When you stay out of my life,
I do no self-harm,
But when you step back in again
Cuts appear on my arm.
Why do I give you this power,
When that's what you've enjoyed?
Why do I let you hurt me
and get so destroyed.
If I trully hate you
Why do I let you hurt me?
If I don't care about you
Why can't I be free?
I can stop the pain
In less than an hour
All I have to do
Is stop giving you power.

life should never end with a cut,
when will people begin to realize this,
it is better to live for the person and,
keep her in a place where u will always miss.

That was to me a very honest and fearless poem about cutting.I have read poems like this from many places in the world. most have something in common it is usually discribed like an addiction. i was treated for an addiction and im wondering if the same principles would apply to those who have this problem
