Sea of Dreams

by Rose   Sep 12, 2004

I lie awake, unknowing,
of what my fate holds for me,
in its unforgiving fingers,
wringing hope from my last plea.

Here I set my mind adrift,
in the refuge for my dreams,
that swim amongst my sanity,
in ever winding streams.

When dawn demands my conscious,
I shield my eyes with fright.
What doom she brings upon me,
with her fatalistic might.

Oppressed by her sheer power,
and her false and blinding glare.
I long just for my sea of dreams,
that dusk with me will share.

Wow! Your poem is great, sometimes a bit too difficult to understand for me... Anyway, I like your writing style!
