One September Morning

by dandy   Sep 12, 2004

One September morning,
Our nation was torn.
From the very depths of every soul,
came the deepest mourns.

One September morning,
the first plane flew and crashed,
right into that building
where so many lives were smashed.

That September morning,
a second plane did the same,
as the building right next door,
erupted in deadly flames.

People screaming, shouting, crying,
trying to get out.
Others stood and gaped at the site,
wondering what this was about.

Within the very same hour,
both of the towers fell.
Countless loved ones lay in the ruins,
trapped in a living hell.

One September morning,
death came knocking at our door.
We wouldn't just stand by and watch,
the president declared war.

So many lives were lost that day,
we will not forget.
We won't give up, we'll continue fighting,
though the terrorists actions will never be justified, they deserve so much more than death.

This poem is dedicated to every American citizen who lost loved ones in the 9/11 attacks. We can't let them beat us.......we have to stay together and be strong. Being scared is only what the terrorists want to see, and I for one, will have no part of that.
